Brazilian construction projects a good investment

Companies in the UK are being urged to look to Brazil for investment opportunities, as the emerging economy has plenty to offer.

UK Trade & Investments (UKTI), a government department that helps businesses develop in overseas markets, wants companies to bid for construction projects.

This includes work relating to the development of the infrastructure needed to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, as well as the Pedra de Ferro mining project.

Edward Oakden, managing director of UKTI's sectors group, commented that British businesses in Brazil have, thus far, an "impressive track record" when it comes to delivering large-scale construction programmes to budget.
